LKisShops: The Principality of Monaco Shopping

When I think of Monte Carlo, I think: Casinos, no taxes and there is potentially a prince wandering somewhere in my midst (how cool is royalty?!).

When I went to Monaco last week, I was not exactly shocked to discover that style and luxury were present in abundance.  But the real “piece-de-resistance” was called the The Metropole Shopping Center.  Um…except this is unlike any shopping center anyone has ever seen, ever.  With giant crystal chandeliers and marble floors, this mall is s-t-u-n-n-i-n-g.  On top of the already over the top decor, it houses an array of uber-fabulous stores (not to mention lots of fabulous people).

The first stop was at the Vilebrequin store, an awesome bathing store with extreme Riviera flare.

Next up was Philipp Plein with its amazing crystal skull displayed in the middle of the store.  So bright and edgy, I kinda wanted to buy the skull to hang in my house…

In a gorgeous menswear store called the Society Club, I spotted these amazing shoes called Scalpers Black Label and a system by which you personalize them.  I was totally intrigued by the clever and cool idea behind this footwear, as I relish any excuse to add a personal touch to an outfit:

Finally, my “mall” experience wouldn’t have been complete without a little shopper-spotting.  One such shopper stood out on my peruse through the Metropole.  With her huge shades, her tassel-topped sandals and her fresh flowy dress, this Egyptian girl embodied shopping-chic, Monaco-style.
