I didn’t know what to expect when I headed to the fall preview for La Canadienne shoes at their store in Montreal. I will admit I have a preconceived notion of this brand as being traditional and all about simplicity…this notion was confirmed and heightened by what I saw in the store. I was pleasantly surprise by their Fall/Winter preview: cozy shearling, velvet details, tassels and multi-ankle straps. Oh, and I was tempted to do damage in the Spring/Summer section. Some seriously good stuff.
La Canadienne specializes in waterproof, handcrafted, and high quality shoes and boots (Italian leather, peeps…nothing really compares). I loved the muted greys that dotted room.
Patten oxfords were super cute with ribbon-esque shoe laces. These would be the perfect accent to a fun winter dress with coloured opaque tights, or with a form-fitting suit.
I loved the carry-all black bag with just enough detail to make it interesting and enough sophistication to make it a no-brainer to go from day to night.
Fur is for this Canadian brand, and a sumptuous fuzzy shawl caught my eye.
The ultimate accessory for winter? A pair of chic, sexy black leather gloves with detailing: bows and blinged out buckles. I would wear them and channel Audrey Hepburn.
If you go to the store, make sure you also explore the summer collection. There was a ton to see: gorgeous printed scarves, crystal-adorned and fab suede studded sandals, and sassy leopard print pumps.
