LKisEvents: Tennis Anyone? Rogers Cup Player Party

The Rogers Cup has come and gone (with quite a bit of drama, fyi), but while I am by NO means a tennis aficionado, I do love an elegant dinner, a good party, and a fun fashion show.

So, when I had the chance to attend the Player Party for Rogers Cup at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal to raise funds for Tennis Canada’s Building Tennis Communities program, I was excited to see what the night had in store.

The legendary Jimmy Connors was there, and I snapped a photo of him and the tournament director, Eugene Lapierre.

Joannie Rochette was also there, looking lovely as usual.

The DJ for the evening was Mistress Barbara (if you haven’t downloaded “I’m Running,” do it now).

I wasn’t the only fashionista in the house: The talented Dimitri Chris was there sporting a very cool striped capelet, of his own design.

I also spotted my girl Micalla’s designs on one event-goer. She was wearing a gorgeous crystal adorned cuff and shimmering earrings. “They’re my favourite,” She told me.

My seat-mates were totally enjoying the moment and having fun meeting the tennis players….okay, and so was I…

The dinner was a huge buffet, with four countries representing: France, Spain, England and Switzerland. After I had stuffed my face with Paella, it was time for a fashion show by, featuring Quebec designs.

The highlights of the show were the players who came out and strutted their stuff.

There was tons of fashion to take in and there were some of my favourites on the catwalk, like this great winter white sweater dress by Nadya Toto:

I also adored these amazing garter stockings…I will be snapping up a pair of those!

The evening continued on, with all the dinner guests invited up onto the catwalk to dance the night away to Mistress Barbara spinning.

A superb mix of sports, fundraising, partying and fashion…I would say this evening was extremely well-played.
