LKisStyle: Styling Montreal Vitamin Daily Editor Jennifer Nachshen, Post 3

My third post of my styling adventures with Jennifer Nachshen, editor of Vitmain Daily Montreal and founding partner of All Beef Media, (and my recommendations for updating any fall wardrobe) is all about blinged-out clothes.

Sequins/paillettes/bling-out embellishment, are super-fun ways to add some interest to any old outfit. I like to wear statement pieces like this, without really thinking about it too much: try pumping up the bling during the day for a real confident-cool factor.

It’s all about balance (I wouldn’t wear it head-to-toe), and playing up the shine.

I was with Jen when she got an awesome pair of gold sequin shorts, and she has this amazing sequined sweater already living in her closet. She just needed some guidance on how to sport these bold pieces as the months get cooler.

First Up: Jen’s amazing sequin top in a perfect pewter. What a sophisticated color to add some intrigue to an uber-flattering grey dress.

We added a pair of lace pumps for some texture, but stuck with black to keep it sophisticated, and some fun shiny accessories to accentuate the sweater. This outfit would be a perfect fashion industry party get-up and Jen would definitely be the bell of the (disco) ball.

Jen’s gold InWear shorts were a bit more of a challenge. I finally settled basic black tank, puffed sleeve blazer, and black gladiator shoes to go with these statement-making slackettes.

We threw her hair up to give the whole style a little levity…And added a black and gold bangle and a signature gold necklace to tie it all together.

I like the idea of wearing heavier shoes (like gladiators) with an outfit like this…something about it makes it all look a little more balanced.

So, three styles down, two to go…Sifting through Jen’s closet was a blast-and-a-half and we came up with some easy go-to looks, including what to do with her sequined pieces.

Go ahead, try it: throw on a blinged out vibe and rock it this fall, guaranteed to you will be the (shiny) star of the show.
