LKISStyle: The Golden Globe Fashions (the winners and…ahem…losers)

The Golden Globes is like the prom after party of Hollywood award season. It’s a little racier, zanier and, well, “funner.”

I look forward to looking at the fashions that grace the red carpet and being a bit of a moviephile, it is like the perfect double-whammy.

This year, I have to say I was a touch disappointed with the level of risk-takers on the red carpet, as safe dressing seemed to reign-supreme. However some looks were slam dunks while others were just… dunk.

Biggest star of the night, biggest miss: Jessica Chastain in Calvin Klein. Oye.

Jennifer Lawrence, the girl on fire was a near hit… until I saw the top of this dress and then it was a bustier bust.

Michelle Dockery evoked Mary-esque grace in Alexander Vauthier.

Halle Berry was making me dizzy (in a not so good way) in this dress-that-was-barely-there by Versace.

 Having a baby?

Get inspired by Claire Danes who rocked this post-bump bod in red Versace.

Taylor missed the mark in Donna Karan.

Kate Hudson was a stunner in Alexander McQueen. I LOVE this dress.

The controversial table-cloth-y dress for Ritchie was original enough to give her some props.

Alotta dress for a little girl, but it worked for Julianne Hough.

This dress was a doily on sexy-fashion-steroids: It was so JLo, in Zuhair Morad.

Amy Adams was a nude dream (less literally than JLo) in this Marchesa mermaid dress.

Taking the plunge in sea foam, I was digging Rosaria Dawson‘s minty structured gown.

The perfect dress for Lena Dunham: The Golden Globes meets the Girls of Brooklyn.

Lucy was swallowed up by print in this Caroline Herrera ball gown.

Anne Hathaway looked elegant but kind of blah in Chanel.

Naomi Watts smoked in this oxblood gown that was buttoned up, and simultaneously totally smouldering.

The fashion winner of the evening (in my humble opinion) was Helen Mirren, who looked positively smashing, age-appropriate, elegant and cool in Badgley Mischka.
