LKISEvents: Montreal Fashion Week, S/S 2014, Day 3

Day 3 of Montreal Fashion Week had some of my favourite shows.

Of course, I headed backstage and had the chance to chat all things beauty for Virgin Radio’s Fashion Fix with Nikki B. We got the goods on trends coming up from Stylist Denis Binet and makeup artist Amelie Ducharme.

And, then it was time for the shows!

Here is a round-up of the fashion and beauty I saw on the runway.

The Fashion: This collection was awesome. A bit edgy (think Bladerunner), interesting silhouettes (I loved the cape/shirt and the cropped moto-jacket) and great colour-blocked separates.

The Beauty: I loved the aggressive flip and accentuated cheek bones- new wave beauty at its best.

Annie 50

The Fashion: Welcome to the desert highway in the 50s. This show was filled with girly dresses and short hemlines. The inspiration was uber-obvious.

The Beauty: The look that accompanied this collection was a rockabilly vibe combined with Lana Del Rey.

Rush Couture

The Fashion: Pastel colours mixed in with basics, elaborate lace and beading alongside basic silhouettes- this collection had a bit of everything, but in a totally fabulous way (ps: I am still dying for the beaded jumpsuit).

The Beauty: Bold dark eyes added some edge and gorgeous big hair.

Day 3 of Montreal Fashion Week reminded me of why I love going to these shows in my hometown.

Heading backstage to see all of the hair and makeup (care of Covergirl and Pantene) and then heading to the front row for an up close and personal viewing of the creations is what I call a great day.
