LKISEvents: World Mastercard Fashion Week, S/S 2014, The Fashion, Day 4

The fourth day of World Mastercard Fashion Week all felt less Spring/Summer and more cooler-weather-appropriate. Bewteen the full-fledge snow at Target and then the oodles of leather I was getting a litttttttttttle bit of seasonal confusion. But I must say, there were still a bunch of great collections.

Here is my re-cap on the shows I attended on Day 4:

Target

One word: Fun. It was a holiday party with smiling models high-fiving and pulling sleds, happy families walking the runway (gorgeous fake families, but still…), a super-model (Erin Wasson) and a dog named bullseye? Oh ya, and did I mention that the front row sat on couches, that the audience got gift bags packed with snow-globes, lipsticks, blankets and pillows, and that for the finale snow sprinkled the runway? Who could even notice the fashion? My favourite look was the faux-fur circle scarf and silver-front sweatshirt.

Soia & Kyo

Neutrals were all over this collections. Muted and rather sophisticated, I felt like this was Soia & Kyo’s best collection yet. I loved the leather biking shorts and who could resist the trench-style skirt. The absolute highlight was the extreme sky blue that was gorgeous in a monochromatic look. Loads of leather for Spring/Summer was no surprise (this whole week was packed with it).

Longer hemlines, leather pieces and an odd blurred strip pattern dominated. The pieces that did catch the eye were the panelled dresses with colour-blocked inserts. Although, I still felt that these looks just read way too heavy for Spring/Summer.

 Rudsak

This collection was also on the heavy side. Again it was all about leather for Spring/Summer 2014 but there were definitely pieces that I could get behind (or into!). I loved the beige skinnies with black leather accents. I also fell for the shimmery overalls that, in my opinion, are only meant to be worn by tall lanky models…but a girl can dream. The black and white trend is also here to stay people.

Big time.

So, that is the scoop on Day 4 of World Mastercard Fashion Week. One day left to review and then it’s time to start chatting all the fun street style and people-spotting I did, and then of course some outfit posts (and a giveaway!).

Fashion really is the gift that keep on giving 🙂
