My next post is up on Virgin Radio! For your convenience I have posted it here too…always thinking of ya 🙂
I headed to England last week and managed to scout out some major shopable spots. I headed all over London and even made my way to Macclesfield to visit my lovely cousin and her delightful fam.
My focus on my fashion scouting?
I mean what better place to shop for accents than the home of the Crown Jewels?!
My source of inspiration was the V&A museum, where I saw the most amazing exhibit all about pearls (turns out the creation of pearls has nothing to do with sand, by the way!). This exhibit was totally informative and boasted some of the most amazing pearl pieces that are valued in the bazillions (maybe they described it a little differently, but you catch my drift!).
And, what could be more inspiring when you leave an exhibit all about jewellery?
Seeing fabulous pieces for sale at the museum, of course!
I spotted these unbelievable accessories by Sarah Angold that were the most unique combination of colour, texture and shape.
Another spot on my whirlwind tour of England’s accessories, was the Camden Market (thanks for the recommendation Anj!) where I found wacky footwear from Irregular Choice.
These shoes were colourful, playful and totally original. Check out this pair complete with garden-knome heels!
In Notting Hill, I made my way through the posh streets to one of the ultimate vintage jewellery stores I have ever come across.
Hirst Antiques was totally out of control, with piles of baubles and bling from every time period imaginable.
I also stopped by Harrods…Aside from the overly touristy and totally overcrowded vibe, I did manage to make my way through quite a fabulous shoe department. There I managed to fall quite in love with the Zodiac flats from Charlotte Olympia. Her whimsical aesthetic and delightfully ornate footwear were so utterly and perfectly British.
I also explored oodles of great accessories at the Portobello Market on Saturday. It was packed with people and vintage finds and needless to say…I loved every minute of it.
One of my favourite finds on my jaunt to the UK definitely had to be Butler and Wilson. Cheeky and totally sparkly, these pieces were show-stoppers (and merit their own blog post btw!).
I loved accessories hunting in England!
It was the perfect way to get a sense of the amazing British aesthetic and get a chance to…shop 🙂
Wanna see what I snapped up on my travels?
Check in later this week with www.lkisstyle.com for my UK haul, in British Adventures in Accessories, Part 2!
