It’s award season and that means it is time to sit back relax and watch the celebrity fashion parade. Well, starting this past weekend it was the kick-off of award season with the Golden Globes and while some of the fashion statements were less than stellar, there were a bunch of folks who put their best fashion foot forward.

So, for today I am discussing my faves on the red carpet and then tomorrow on www.lkisstyle.com it’ll be my take on who didn’t wear it best.

First up, I loved this Ralph Lauren caped number on Lupita Nyong’o. The red, the silhouette, it all just worked.

Then I thought Taylor Swift finally got it right. Youthful and glamorous, this dress was singing.

Michelle Dockery glittered in her Oscar de la Renta. She looked elegant, award-worthy and modern all at the same time.

This was my kinda’ look, Emma Watson. Dress in the front and edgy in the back, this Dior Couture was definitely a risk-taking get-up.

Juliana Margulies was wearing an Andrew Gn dress with lovely gold accents. I thought that this look was age-appropriate, sophisticated and fashionable.

Kerry Washington- I mean is she not the cutest woman ever?! I mean who wouldn’t swoon for her cuties-patooties baby-bump, the white dress against her gorgeous complexion and the perfect silhouette for her extra-petite frame.

When I grow up I want to be Sophia Vergara. That lady is just the poster-child of red-carpet chic. Her signature Lorraine Schwartz necklace was quite literally the icing on the style cake.

Margot Robbie had that whole ethereal statuesque thing happening in her simple white Gucci gown. It reminded me of the Charlize Theron look that positively stopped traffic last year at this time.

And, I hadn’t even remotely thought that Kate Beckinsale would steal the show at the awards, but there she was in this fabulous figure-hugging (painted-on?) glittering gown by Zhar Murad.

So, there it is, my top picks for best-dressed at the 2014 Golden Globes. I have to say that there were definitely more misses than hits this year and a bit too much blah for my taste at an awards show where most folks should be pushing the limits (the Oscars are for the stuffy fashions people!).

Wanna know my least favourites?

Tune in tomorrow on www. LKISStyle.com for all the dirt 🙂

Happy Award Season!
