LKISStyle: On Virgin Radio, New Year’s Beauty Resolutions 2014

My Next Post is Up on Virgin Radio (PS: you can head there to hear my clip from the radio all about winter skincare!) and is right here too for your reading convenience!

I do love winter, somewhere deeeeeeeeep deeeeeeeeeep down. A new year, a fresh start…trust me that really sounds good to me this year! And while every year at this time I feel a renewed sense of proactivity, I do NOT however feel like I am looking my best in these crazy Polar Vortex days. Just like last year, enter some of my favourite beauty resolutions and new/tried-tested-and-true products to help me put a little pep in my beauty step for 2014.

1. Be the centre of attention:

First up, there are some fantastically fun cosmetics to help start the year off with a bang. I am freaking for the Lit Holographic eye kit (you can get it at Intense glittery pigment complete with an applicator and base, this is sure to help you feel glamorous despite the weather.

2. Glow 2.0:

Speaking of glowing, Glamglow (my obsession from my beauty resolutions a year ago) has come out with Thirstymud. Glamglow’s masks are to-die-for and add in a little double time action with hydration and treatment, I am sold-o-rama.

3. Simplify:

Another beauty resolution is to find the ultimate collection of neutral eyeshadows that can be mixed and matched to perfection. And, I know I am going to shock you here, I have found two amazing palettes for 2014. They both have the perfect range of dark to light and a great combination of pinks and browns, ideal for any complexion and occasion.

4. Quit:

Next, this year one of my resolutions is to stop biting my lips, seriously. It is a grossy-gross habit and so I need a next level lip balm to get me on track. B.Kamins Lip Balm SPF 20 is a current absolute favourite. It’s a Canadian brand (wahoo!), nourishing and has SPF, so my road to lip biting recovery is definitely looking good.

5. Look to the Future:

Next resolution is to use a great product that doesn’t break the bank, has intense anti-aging properties (start early people) and is moisturizing to combat the elements. Marcelle Gene Youth does the trick and I am loving that it is gentle enough to use every day and priced so well that I feel good about using it ALL up.

6. Be Responsible:

This product is a classic and it changes the game for this next beauty resolution. Applying night serum is one of those things I constantly “forget” to do. 2014 will be different! Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair is the bomb (the balm?).

6. Shed the past:

Finally, January is the time for exfoliation so enter my also long-time favourite, Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish. Do away with dead skin and step out of the shower feeling moisturized- it is like the most fabulous oxymoron.

These prods will make those beauty resolutions a snap, and the new year will mean a new and improved you (okay, maybe just improved but that is a serious beauty win in my books!).

Happy 2014!
