LKISEvents: On Virgin Radio, World Mastercard Fashion Week, F/W 2014, The Fashion Day 2

(and right here too :))

With day one done (you can see my recap here:, it was time to start day two of World Mastercard Fashion Week and it was truly a day of diverse aesthetics. From boho-chic, to mod school girl to blushing bride, there was something for everyone.

Here is my take on shows from Day 2:

Laura Siegel

Laura Siegel is fashion with a conscience and that is something I truly appreciate. Add in the fact that there is something rather sophisticated about her hippy vibe and I am a fan. The colour palette for Fall/Winter 2014 for LS? Green is good, people.

Matiere Noire

One of the winners of Mercedes-benz Start Up, Matiere Noire was dark but somehow innocent as well. I liked the straight-jacket-esque buckle details and the short hemlines.

Malorie Urbanovitch

The second winner of the Mercedes-benz Start Up was Malorie Urbanovitch. The colours were very unique for winter, with pale blue and chartreuse definitely standing out. The shapes were boxy and there was a whole Wonder Years-ish vibe to the collection.

Melissa Nepton

This show was my jam. I have to say that it isn’t just because Nepton hails from Montreal (although, you know, that helps!). She somehow manages to create sporty clothes that still have imagination, edge, originality and sex-appeal. I thought the extra-wide-legged pants were really fun and I loved the gold-infused jacquard.

David Dixon White Label

David Dixon does bridal? How perfect is that. Both the designer and the institution were basically made for each other- I mean what girl doesn’t want to look utterly tasteful, feminine and beautiful on her wedding day? I loved the blush-pink, the dramatic accessories and the possibility of a bride rocking a peplum topped strapless jumpsuit on her special day.

Alright, time for day 3!

See you on the runway,
